Michigan’s Economy Should Work for Workers

Working full time should mean you can afford your life, take care of your family, and not get hurt on the job.

  • Fight for higher wages, stronger labor protections, and safer workplaces, because no one should be injured, exploited, or underpaid.

  • Pass a statewide paid family and medical leave program so that caring for a newborn or a sick loved one doesn't mean choosing between family and financial survival.

  • Make child care affordable so that parents who want to return to work can actually afford to do so.

  • Strengthen unemployment insurance so Michigan workers have a real safety net when they need it.

  • Repeal the Death Star preemption law and restore the ability of local governments to set stronger labor standards, including higher minimum wages and predictive scheduling protections.

  • Protect Michigan workers from federal rollbacks on wages, workplace safety, and labor rights.

Workers aren't asking for a handout. They're asking for a system that reflects the value of what they do. I've stood with workers on the picket line and in the legislature, because all wealth begins with labor.
