Healthcare is a human right

And our healthcare system is in crisis

  • Advance MiCare, a single-payer, publicly funded health care plan that would provide comprehensive, high-quality coverage to every Michigander, without deductibles, co-insurance, co-pays, or caps.

  • Defend my 2024 telemedicine law requiring private insurers to cover telemedicine at the same rate as in-person care, because patients and their doctors should decide the best method of care, not insurance company CEOs.

  • Stop insurers from creating additional obstacles to care such as requiring that patients consult a telehealth provider or a bot for a referral to in-person care.

  • Prevent the use of AI in making determinations about health coverage.

  • End the Black maternal health infant mortality crisis in Michigan through state investment in research and the passing of the Momnibus package.

  • Support investments in mental health and community-based care through increased state funding.

  • Address the healthcare workforce shortage through fair wages, training support, student loan forgiveness, and new laws to reduce workplace assaults.

"Healthcare is a right, not a luxury. I’m not just talking about access—I’m passing laws to make access real and healthcare affordable so that people can get the care they need without going bankrupt."
